My Story
I grew in up in Northern Colorado where music was a major part of my life from very young. I started my musical journey on violin and the piano, and I picked up the organ at the age of 15 when my local congregation in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was in need of an organist. I soon fell in love with the instrument. I could spend hours at the church playing with the stops and getting to know the many colors of the organ.
As an adult I studied Computer Science at Brigham Young University and continued to learn the organ from faculty there. In my studies at BYU my love for the organ continued to deepen and I also developed a deep love for teaching after teaching at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. This led me to change my career path and go on to earn a Master’s degree in organ performance from the University of Texas at Austin. I now continue to work as an organist and teach organ and piano in the Atlanta area.
